Lanka Lions cricket club hosts Touring Indian Deaf Cricket team

Singapore – September 25, 2009 - Lanka Lions Cricket Club Singapore (“Lanka Lions”), the current champions of the Singapore Cricket league, is hosting the Indian Deaf Cricket team on
Friday the 2nd October 2009 at the Singapore Indian Association grounds, 69 Balestier Road, Singapore 329677. This game will be played in the exciting Twenty-20 format and is
scheduled to commence at 1.15pm and end at approximately 4pm immediately followed by a post-match presentation.

The Indian Deaf Cricket Team is made up of players from all over India. This is the first time that any Deaf Cricket Team is going to represent India overseas. The team will play 2 cricket
matches in Singapore and will also visit Deaf Schools in Kuala Lumpur during this tour. Officials accompanying the tour party include Sh. Harish Rai Dhanda (Chief Parliamentary Secretary,
Govt. of Punjab), Sh. Sanjeev Kumar (President, Deaf Cricket Federation, Punjab), Sh. Padam Passi (General Secretary, Deaf Cricket Federation, Punjab) and Sh. Varinder Sharma(Advocate).

This event is an initiative of the Lanka Lions Cricket Club whose vision is to bring communities together through sport.
